Discrimination and prejudice are two of the biggest problems facing people with experience of mental distress. They rob us of the chances that others take for granted. And they can have a devastating effect on how we see ourselves.

Get to know the facts and join with others to speak out.

Factfiles
Looking for work or somewhere to live, a fair deal from public services or balanced media coverage? Find out how discrimination and prejudice affect all areas of our lives.

Knowing the facts about mental health discrimination - where it happens, to whom, when and how often - is important. Whether you want to back up an argument, or are trying to decide how best to challenge discrimination, having some facts and figures to hand can be useful.

Open Up's factfiles cover some of the key areas where people face discrimination because of their experience of mental distress.

The factfiles are an ongoing project and we'll be adding to this resource all the time. So, let us know if there are particular areas that you'd like us to investigate.
